England are through to the quarter-finals of the Cape Town Sevens despite losing two of their three group games.

Head coach Charlie Hayter sad in the build-up to the competition that his side could 'right some wrongs' from last weekend's Dubai Sevens where they finished ninth.

They lost 21-7 to the USA and 32-0 to Australia. Their only win was against Ireland, who England beat last weekend in the ninth place play-off, this time running out 36-7 winners.

USA, France, Russia, Australia, Fiji, Canada, and New Zealand join England in the quarter-finals which take place tomorrow.

The women in white will have a tricky job on their hands as they face the Black Ferns who won the Dubai Sevens tournament last weekend.

Canada face the USA, France will play Russia and Australia take on Fiji.
