The Women's Super League is heading towards its final weekend round of matches before the three-week Christmas break.

Here, as ever, we start our daily round-up of another enticing programme.

We kick off with last season's champions Arsenal who travel to Everton with The Gunners looking to maintain top spot.

Everton vs Arsenal

It was very much a case of business as usual for Joe Montemurro's side on Sunday as they dispatched Reading 3-0.

The victory made it five wins in a row for the north London outfit, an excellent response to the defeat to Chelsea in the middle of October.

However, although top of the table, Arsenal have played one more game than Emma Hayes' team, who sit just two points behind them.

So, it is crucial Vivianne Miedema and co take care of Everton at the weekend in order to keep pace with their title rivals.

Meanwhile, The Toffees will be looking to bounce back following a poor performance against Manchester United which saw them throw away an early lead to lose 3-1.

It ended a run of three straight victories for the Merseyside club and opened the gap between themselves and the top three to six points.

If Willie Kirk's side have ambitions of spoiling the title race party then this is one they desperately need to win.

Arsenal beat Everton 2-1 the last time the two sides met in April, but The Gunners will have to be firing on all cylinders if they are to come through this one.

The match kicks off at 12:30pm on Sunday and will be available to watch for free on the FA Player app.

There will also be a full round-up of all the weekend's action on the NewsChain website.
