Great Britain’s Women hockey squad will face Chile in two-leg Olympic qualifier
Great Britain women face Chile in a two-leg Olympic qualification tie ahead of Tokyo 2020.
The women will need back-to-back wins in order to secure the qualification spot before pursuing their hope to defend the Olympic title.
Although favourites, GB will be feeling the pressure after a poor year following the EuroHockey Championships last month where they failed to get on the podium for the first time in 16 years.
Chile are ranked 18th in the world and have never qualified for a World Cup or an Olympics.

Forward Lily Owsley said: “I don’t think anyone individually had dealt with a defeat [8-0 to Holland] that big in our careers.
“But it’s still up to us and we are in control of it at our own home. I’ve got every faith this team will qualify.”
The matches will take place at the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis centre on November 2-3.
