Great Britain got their EuroBasket 2021 qualifying campaign off to a perfect start with a 75-63 win over Poland in Walbrzych.

Eilidh Simpson scored 18 points while Karlie Samuelson and Temi Fagbenle contributed 16 points each.

Team GB were missing their captain Jo Leedham-Warner due to a calf injury but did not miss her as they ran out comfortable victors.

Speaking to BBC Sport after the match, Simpson said: "It's a great honour - it is for any player - but I'm just happy to be part of the team, whether I play one minute or 30 minutes.

Head coach Jose Buceta added: "She did a great job in defence and offence. She's a very intelligent player and she has the skills.

"Jo [Leedham-Warner] is not here and of course we would prefer to have her play in the team, but without her we are still able to play as a team - the teamwork is still functioning."

GB's next qualifier is on Sunday when they play Belarus in Manchester.
