Tennis star Serena Williams has spoken about the reality of being a working mum.

Williams, 38, was knocked out in the third round at the Australian Open last month against China's Wang Qiang.

The 23 Grand Slam winner gave birth to her daughter, Olympia, in September 2017 and returned to the court six months later.

On her Instagram she wrote: "I am not sure who took this picture but Working and being a mom is not easy. I am often exhausted, stressed, and than I go play a professional tennis match.

"We keep going. I am so proud and inspired by the women who do it day in and day out. I’m proud to be this baby’s mama."

Williams will next compete in the Miami Open on March 23.
