Tennis star Dayana Yastremska announces split from coach Sascha Bajin following US Open exit
World No 25 Dayana Yastremska has split from her coach Sascha Bajin following her US Open exit.
The 20 year-old, who was knocked out in straight sets in the second round, took to social media to announce that she and Bajin were parting company.
The former hitting partner to Serena Williams and former coach of world No 9 Naomi Osaka began coaching the Ukrainian last year.
Yastremska said on Twitter: “I would like to announce that after the US Open, I decided to stop my cooperation with Sascha Bajin. I want to thank him for everything and wish him a good luck! It was a good experience for me.”
The rising star finished runner-up to world No 1 Ashleigh Barty in the Adelaide International final earlier this year.
She also beat the reigning Australian Open champion Sofia Kenin to reach the round of 16 at the Qatar Total Open in February.
