Defending Vitality Superleague champions Manchester Thunder claimed a narrow victory over Loughborough Lightning.

Thunder edged it 67-64 to continue their winning streak with three from three. 

Lightning have had a mixed start to the season with two defeats and a win against Strathclyde Sirens.

Saracens Mavericks beat Severn Stars convincingly 61-45, with George Fisher top-scorer in the match as she netted 45.

Two fixtures were also played on Friday evening. Team Bath pulled off a shock upset over Wasps and Strathclyde Sirens defeated Surrey Storm.
