London Pulse have maintained their winning form after they narrowly beat Surrey Storm 51-50 away in the second round of the Vitality Netball Superleague.

Pulse found themselves four goals up at half-time but the pressure got the better of them as they headed into the final quarter one behind.

In the last five minutes of the game, Pulse trailed by five goals but recovered well and went on to win several crucial turnovers.

Shooting duo Chiara Semple and Sigi Burger remained calm and led their side to the win.

London Pulse head coach Samantha Bird said afterwards: "It was crazy town wasn't it? We had such a big lead and then we just squandered it. Credit to Storm, they made good changes and we were slow to adapt to that.

"This club won two games in the whole of the season last year and we've two from two so lots to celebrate and lots to be very proud of."

Elsewhere, Wasps secured their first win of the season after a 57-53 victory against Saracens Mavericks at the Ricoh Arena.

The hosts held a two-goal lead after the first quarter as Hannah Knight and Fran Williams continued to shut down Mavericks' defence.

Wasps led by six goals at half-time and continued to dominate in all areas of the court before they took the win.

Wasps head coach Mel Mansfield said: "This was a really important win for us tonight. It was about how the team were feeling at this stage in the season and it will be a big boost."

Wasps will face Team Bath away on March 6 and Pulse will battle it out against Celtic Dragons next on March 9 at the Copper Box Arena.
