Hollie Doyle has broken the British record for the most winners by a female jockey in a calendar year today as she won her 107th race at Southwell

Doyle could have completed the achievement yesterday but was beaten by her boyfriend - fellow flat jockey Tom Marquand. She said afterwards: "He won't be coming home tonight!"

Doyle was aboard Class Clown as she raced across the line and she still has the rest of December to improve her tally.

She said: "I feel a bit emotional. I just feel very grateful and very lucky.

“It’s amazing for me. I never imagined I would be in this position so I’m just grateful. I’ll just keep going and doing things the same.”

ITV Racing's Oli Bell said it was a 'tremendous achievement'.
