Sky Sports presenter Vicky Gomersall breaks down in tears live on air after hearing tragic news of Bob Willis's death
Sky Sports News presenter Vicky Gomersall broke down in tears live on air as she announced the death of England cricket legend Bob Willis.
The fast bowler took a sensational 325 wickets in 90 tests for his country and was a key part of England's famous victory over Australia at Headingley in 1981.
After his playing career he became a pundit on Sky Sports where he built up something of a cult following for his work on the channel.
And it was clear for all to see just how much he was loved by his colleagues when Gomersall broke down when reading out the family's statement.
After initially reading the first few words of the tribute, Gomersall stalled as she was overcome by emotion.
Fellow presenter Jim White carried on the announcement from Willis's family.
It read: "We are heartbroken to lose our beloved Bob, who was an incredible husband, father, brother and grandfather.
"He made a huge impact on everybody he knew and we will miss him terribly."
The family said Willis had died 'after a long illness'. The news was met with an outpouring of messages on social media.
