Wales women's head coach Rowland Philips has left his role to 'seek other opportunities'.

His departure follows a period of unexplained absence from his role. He missed two test matches in October and all of Wales' autumn matches and this year's Six Nations.

The WRU said: "The Welsh Rugby Union would like to thank Rowland for his contribution and commitment during his time with us and wish him well in his future endeavours."
