Alex Scott appears alongside Deli Alli, Frank Lampard and other football stars in Prince William's new mental health video
Former Arsenal star Alex Scott features in Prince William's Every Mind Matters video that will be played before all male FA Cup matches this weekend.
Scott appears alongside Chelsea manager Frank Lampard, Tottenham Hotspur players Deli Alli and Son Heung-min as well as Man United's Harry Maguire and Everton keeper Jordan Pickford.
The prince, who is the president of the Football Association, narrates the minute-long clip that encourages football fans to look after their mental health. The film is a part of a Heads Up campaign.
William started the Heads Up initiative in 2016 with brother Harry, as they talked about the impact of their mother Princess Diana's death.
Kick off for all 32 cup matches will be delayed by 60 seconds so the video can be played at the stadiums and it will also be broadcast on TV for supporters watching at home.
William says in the film: "In life, as in football, we all go through highs and lows. We can all sometimes feel anxious or stressed. At moments even the little things can seem a struggle. But we can all start to change things.
"Every Mind Matters and Heads Up will show you the simple steps you can take to look after your mental health - helping to boost your mood, improve your sleep and feel ready for life's ups and downs."
The film comes after the news this week that former Cardiff City player Chris Barker had been found dead at just 39 after apparently taking his own life.
Health Secretary, Matt Hancock, said: “Just like physical health, mental health is an asset that we all must take practical steps to build, nurture and strengthen.
“This film is a great way to encourage us all to stop and take a minute to reflect on our mental health, helping to generate conversation and normalise mental health and give people more opportunity to speak up if they are struggling.”
The campaign is being backed by the entire FA including the Barclay's Women's Super League.
