Joe Biden has won the race to become the 46th President of the United States after an agonising three-day wait for key state results to come in.

US and UK news organisations project that Mr Biden has won the key battleground of Pennsylvania, propelling him over the 270 electoral college vote winning line required to get the keys to the White House.

Sources close to President Trump said he had no plans to concede, but it would seem he has become the first one-term president since he 1990s.
