Olympic gold medallist Shawn Johnson went viral this week after she posted a photo of herself wearing the leotard she won a gold medal in at 40 weeks pregnant.

The 27-year-old also won three silver medals at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. The gymnast said that her husband dared her to try it on in the late stage of her pregnancy.

The star took to Instagram to share the shot with the caption: "...fits a little different these days, Andrew Deast dared me too hahah 40 weeks preggers. But no joke... this babes is already more rewarding than any medal was. BABY! GET HERE ALREADY!"

The Instagram post received nearly half a million likes on the social media platform.

Johnson married American football player Andrew Deast in 2016 and the couple announced the pregnancy via YouTube in May of this year.

The couple also announced through the video streaming site in 2017 that Johnson suffered a miscarriage just two days after the pair found out they were expecting.

The gymnast retired in 2012 after a ACL injury she picked up while skiing caused her continuous problems.
