Anti-gang sports scheme launched by former England netball captain Ama Agbeze
Former England Netball captain Ama Agbeze has launched a new anti-gang sports campaign to help get young people off the streets and into team sports.
The 36-year-old has 100 international caps to her name and led the England squad to a historic victory at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
And off the court she has visited youth centres, schools and workplaces in an attempt to encourage young people to get involved in playing sport as opposed to hanging around on the streets.
She told the Evening Standard: "I think sport is amazing at unlocking potential and also giving people something to do. You meet people, you engage, and it potentially takes people off the streets."
Agbeze has teamed up with Greenhouse Sports who are looking to 'improve physical and mental health in the communities that need it most'.
The 'Invest in Our Champions' event in Spitalfields Market is running until Friday and has been organised by a sports agency who have produced two entirely unique 'pop-up' table tennis tables.
