Everton forward Chloe Kelly brimming with confidence as she looks to continue fine Women's Super League form
Everton forward Chloe Kelly says her side are sticking together as a team like never before as they continue to impress in the Women's Super League.
The 21-year-old has four goals for The Toffees so far this season and is joint top scorer in the league.
And the former Arsenal striker believes she learned things at The Gunners that have contributed to the player she is today, despite only playing a handful of games for the north London outfit.
“I worked very hard during my time at Arsenal but since I have come to Everton I have learned so much more and improved a lot more," she said.
“I learned a lot from the experienced players like Kelly Smith and Rachel Yankee at Arsenal, but it came to a time when I needed to be pushing on and getting minutes on the pitch so moving to Everton was a great step for me.”
Everton currently sit fourth in the WSL and look the most likely to gatecrash the 'top three' of Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal. They host table-toppers Chelsea on Sunday.
And the unity that Willie Kirk's side have is something Kelly believes is invaluable to their success so far this campaign.
“Maybe we haven’t always stuck together as much off the pitch but we are doing that too at the moment – and if you’re not performing someone is going to take your place, so the competitiveness is helping us too this season," she said.
"I am playing with a lot of confidence at the moment and just enjoying my football – when I enjoy my football I play at my best and that is showing this season.
“I enjoy scoring goals but I love assisting my team-mates too and I think I can bring both to the team with the way I play.”
