Injury has forced GB athlete Stef Reid to pull out of the World Para Athletics Championships in Dubai next week.

British Athletics have confirmed the reigning T44 long jump champion is suffering with an ankle injury.

Reid is a multiple medal winner at World and European Championships. She has also won a silver medal at both the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

She said: "It’s hard to do the work and not get the chance to perform. Unfortunately, sport has some difficult moments. But it’s not helpful to dwell on them too long so my focus will now shift to Tokyo.

"I have a fantastic team and I am looking forward to doing it all again next season!"

The World Para Athletics Championships take place in Dubai from 7-15 November.
